How can you turn a retail area into a genuine store? Experience and a clear concept are the basic conditions but practical aspects were also prioritised in the Kortrijk-based wine store.

How can you turn a retail area into a genuine store? Experience and a clear concept are the basic conditions but practical aspects were also prioritised in the Kortrijk-based wine store.

Basic. Simplicity. Interior. Concept. Idea. It’s all about the steel structures which clearly delineate each pallet of wine. The bottle-holder is discrete, practical and clear. Potential confusion becomes orderly. The duet between the white painted and rough metallic design elements is a direct reference to the different wine varieties.

The stronger drinks are located on racking which reflects the wooden structure of the ceiling tiles, whereby the lines between architecture and FIVE AM’s conceptual processes are blurred. Wine lockers, with a key in a wooden chest, offer a space for an individual wine collection.
